The SASI Observer Award was established in 2004 to recognise observational achievement by an individual member. These observations must be sky based and astronomical in nature and are visual, photographic (film/ccd/webcam), instrumental or a drawing. The conditions are: | | The Observation must have been made during the Month for which it was awarded; | | | You may nominate yourself or another member; | | | The Committee must be provided with an adequate description of the observation; | | | The Observation must be sky based and astronomical in nature; | | | The Observation may be visual, photographic (film/ccd/webcam etc), instrumental or a drawing; | | | The winner must be a financial member of the society; and | | | The award may be awarded jointly for multiple observations of the same subject or by equally meritorious observations of different events/objects. |

There will be no award made for any month if no satisfactory nominations are received.
