DESCRIPTION:Simulating Mars – learning the art of living on another planetAstronauts ha
ve long trained for space missions right here on Earth, going back to the A
pollo program. Learning to live on Mars, where humans will need to spend ex

un by the Mars Society.  These are spread around the world and include the
new Himalayan Outpost for Planetary Exploration (HOPE) in India where membe
rs of our Australian team recently provided tech expertise in getting the f
acility up and running. This talk is about simulating living and working on
Mars, as well how far long the journey humanity is to the first “boots on
the ground” on the red planet.\nEarl WhiteEarl White is the Customer Commun
ications Manager at The Binocular and Telescope Shop (Bintel) and Vice-Pres
