2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the construction of the first building in the Geen Point Observatory. This was the building with the dome housing the Selby telescope.

To celebrate the achievements of our founding members, we will be holding a ceremony at which we will deposit a time capsule containing memorabilia from the first 50 years of the observatory. We will unveil a plaque with instructions to exhume the time capsule in another 25 years.

Following the official program we will be providing a barbecue dinner for members and their families.
