Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event due to Covid lockdown restrictions.
Members,
2021 marks another milestone in SASI’s history, that being the celebration of SASI’s 60th Anniversary. From the humble beginnings of our two founders Keith Selby and Frank Napier wishing to form SASI’s inaugural club, the James Cook Astronomers Club in 1961, we have an astronomical society that is rated as one of Australia’s top Astronomical Societies. SASI boosts a state of the art amateur observatory and gathering place where observations, cameraderie, meetings and education take place for both members and members of the public.
As it is anticipated that a large number of members and their parties will celebrate this SASI 60th Anniversary milestone the celebration will take place at the Garden Terrace located within the Taren Point Bowling Club.
