The spinning of galaxies in the web of our Universe

In our Universe, the majority of galaxies spin, but where is their angular momentum coming from? In this talk, I will discuss the complex large-scale structure of our Universe and how galaxies spin in this cosmic web. Galaxies with different shapes are found to spin in different ways within the large-scale cosmic structure, exposing understandings on how galaxies acquire their angular momentum. I will present the latest studies on the topic that use data from the Anglo-Australian Telescope in NSW, comparing them with works done with computer simulations, revealing insights on the various formation pathways of different kind of galaxies.
