speaker spacescape 2005Topic: Spacescape 2025 - Snapshot of the Australian Space Industry

"As Australia’s multi-billion-dollar space industry continues to expand, it will drive innovation and technological advancement that will shape a future made in Australia".

Innovations in space exploration have significant terrestrial spillover effects. It’s for farmers using satellite data to save crops, doctors pioneering remote medicine, and tech experts protecting us from bushfires and other natural disasters.

Endorsed by the Space Industry Association of Australia, Spacescape 2025 highlights the vital link between space innovation and its applications here on earth. Furthermore, given the industry's focus on inspiring young people and developing a future STEM workforce, this ebook is an accessible and engaging way for students to learn about career paths and the exciting developments in the sector.

Spacescape 2025 provides a snapshot of the Australian space industry, covering its definition, economic and societal contributions, and career opportunities. It also outlines Australia's historical role in space, lists critical infrastructure, highlights events like the 76th International Astronautical Congress, and touches on law and policy.

From recorded interviews with an astronaut, an astrophysicist, medical professional, engineers and technicians, this book brings real industry stories to the wider community.

Whether you are an aspiring student interested in a career in the space industry, an educator, an industry professional, researcher, policy officer, or just curious, this book has something for everyone.

The ebook is uploaded to the dedicated landing page as:

I have developed Spacescape 2025, a digital resource for teachers and students, to help us learn about the Australian space industry in a fun and engaging way.

Spacescape 2025 highlights Australia’s role in the global space sector and demonstrates how space technologies underpin our everyday lives. Through recorded interviews with an astronaut, to engineers and technicians, this publication brings real industry stories to students and the wider community. Spacescape 2025 showcases the Australian space industry; helps people understand the benefits of government investment in space research and startups; and spark curiosity in STEM education to shape a skilled future workforce. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of the space industry with you.
